Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ilkay Silk was a well-known actress, director and producer who taught at St. Thomas University. Her parents were Peter, a distinguished academic. One of Anna's first memories were playing rehearsals and watching her mother do her job. Silk appeared as a little girl in several commercials. She received a Bachelor's of Arts from St. Thomas University in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two plays in the beginning: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto in order to perform and improve in November of 1999. After a decade, she relocated in Los Angeles. She met her soon-to-be spouse, Seth Cooperman, at an actor's workshop in Los Angeles, in 2007. Following their engagement in 2008, they married in 2009. The 10th of April, 2011 the couple renewed their vows in the context of a Jewish ceremony in Fredericton after she converted to Judaism.
